We heard from a friend to check out Bistro Miyoda. So glad we did. My son had a craving for nigiri sushi. The location is right in a mini strip mall by a Vons. The place has that dark rustic wood with an old school feel. We were seated right away and our sweet server took our order. Along with the sushi set, we ordered the Crunchy Shrimp Roll and the Unagi Bowl. The Hubs said the grilled umagi was the best he's tasted. I would agree. It was slightly sweet, not overly so and was worth the few extra minutes I had to wait for it to grill. The sushi lunch set is a great value and quality was excellent. We did order family style as my son prefers nigiri over rolls. We will definitely come back!

Can't say it enough, Bistro Miyoda is a very nice place to have lunch or dinner. Kind service, very fair prices and delicious food. Reminds of a comfortable, local neighborhood restaurant like you may have gone with your family to have a meal. So good.

Wow! This place is a gem hidden in this plaza! Food portions were great for its pricing! There 2 ladies working, and one of them was so efficient and strong that she carried several rice bowls on one huge plate to serve several tables!! This restaurant is not too big inside but good enough to house many groups. We ordered their Lunch Bento boxes. There was so much food that my friends took their leftovers home for their dinners! My only thing is that I didn't quite care for their Teriyaki sauce as it was a bit on the salty side for me. All in all, I can't complain too much about ...

This is my second time at the restaurant. Came for a girl date with my best friend which was great. Then I decided to come in for dinner with my boyfriend since we were in the neighborhood. All our food was delicious and we were trying new things. The servers were decently attentive and we'd put in orders gauging our fullness. We had fun with the sake bombs. I've been to many sushi places, they have the best bomb set up. We'd return!

I came here on a Saturday night with my mom and a friend before watching a show at the Redondo performing arts center (only 10 min away!). I made a reservation very easily the day of on OpenTable, and we were promptly seated on arrival. The sushi was fairly standard, but I was particularly impressed with the dinner box for both its quality and quantity at a very good price point. Would highly recommend getting that to share! One gripe is that the udon from the tempura udon was very, very salty. The noodles were cooked well, but the broth was too salty for me to finish the dish, which was disappointing. However, the tempura was very light and delicious, so I would maybe recommend getting that separately without the udon. Overall, it was a nice restaurant, and I'd love to come here again if I am in the area.

Because of a recommendation and also because we were in the Torrance area, so we had an early lunch and was anxious to try a new Japanese restaurant. They had a lot of lunch options to choose from and I was glad to see a sashimi lunch choice. So we went with two of the sashimi lunch, a soft shell crab appetizer A11 and A13 fried chicken tatsuta-age appetizer. We received a complimentary Seaweed salad for checking in, so take advantage of that offer. Everything we ordered was delicious. Sashimi portions were nice and thick. Not thin slices. Great fish selections of salmon, tuna and yellowtail. 5 pieces of each accompanied by miso soup and green salad. The chicken was perfectly crispy and flavorful. It would have been a perfect lunch service except we had to ask like 3 times to get a straw, had to ask or remind them about my chicken appetizer which came after I already finished my sashimi lunch. My water glass could've used a refilling and with the servers coming by our table, you would think they would notice and refill my glass, however I had to ask to have it refilled and that took awhile for it to happen. The servers were very nice and friendly, I just think the attention to detail is what's needed. I would definitely comeback for lunch when in the area again.

Had to have my sushi fix one more time before heading back to Arizona. Went on a Wednesday night with my sister and the drink and food came out right away since it wasn't as busy as the weekend. Tried something new and the favorites we mostly liked. Their nigiri tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and scallops kept us going back for more. This time we also got the spicy scallops which was fantastic! We also tried their squid nigiri which wasn't our favorite. Their nigiri portions are huge and will fill you up real good, can't wait to visit again!
